Michiana Watershed derives its name from the area straddling the Michigan-Indiana state line and comprising the Lake Michigan, Kankakee River, and St. Joseph River Basins.

The general mission of Michiana Watershed, Inc. is to encourage groups and agencies in the Watershed to engage in projects which result in the improvement and conservation of the environment and natural resources in the Michiana community.

Currently we are promoting the conversion of rails-to-trails and development of bike/pedestrian trails in the Watershed, expansion of greenspace along the St. Joseph River, monitoring of the quality of the water in the St. Joe River and tributaries and promoting the restoration and preservation of these streams.

We are always in need of volunteers to help with our projects. If you are interested in helping with projects to improve the Michiana community, please contact us!
